  1. I attended this seminar at 1am in the morning on the other side of the world! I have never experienced this type of format where you enter different virtual booths and text your questions to a panel of experts who are there to answer the pressing issues.

    In one of the sessions they discussed the importance of including a statistics course, making it equal to an AP Calculus course. The argument was that not only was it needed for research in higher education, but it was a practical mathematic element on the job. The part that struck me was the sequencing of preparation in math subjects in order to reach the goal of AP Calculus or Statistics. My son will be entering into high school next year. I need to start thinking about how to prepare curriculum or perhaps online high school math courses and sequencing for AP courses.
